Chicken in a pizza style sauce, Mature Cheddar and pepperoni are sandwiched between slices of white bread made with sourdough, then the whole thing is topped with béchamel sauce and grated mixed cheese before it goes through the toaster. The béchamel on the outside is the unusual part. Most toasties keep the cheese inside and let the bread crisp, but here a second layer bakes onto the top surface, which is closer to what happens on a croque monsieur than to the Ham & Cheese Toastie already on the menu. It's the third toastie in the Greggs range, joining the Ham & Cheese and the Cheese & Caramelised Onion, and the first to build itself around a pizza flavour profile rather than a sandwich one. Added to the autumn menu that arrived in shops on 3 September 2026.
