Smooth and sweet, with just enough mustard to give it a tang. The mustard is dialled well back from what a mustard sauce would carry, so it works as a sweet dip with a sharp edge rather than a sharp one with sweetness added. Honey mustard has been standard on American chicken menus for decades, and it's the pairing most people reach for when they don't want heat. That makes it the safe order in a range where three of the nine carry chilli. It overlaps least with the Original Sauce and most with the Texas BBQ, both of which lead on sweetness, though the mustard keeps it from tasting like either. One of the nine dips that went onto the KFC core menu nationwide on 15 June 2026, sold alongside the Original Recipe Tenders.
