Soy and toasted sesame make this one, and the result is glossy and thick rather than thin the way a pouring teriyaki would be. It reads savoury first and sweet second, which is the balance the Japanese original works on. Teriyaki gets its shine from sugar reducing in soy sauce, and holding that texture in a dip pot is the trick here, since it has to cling to a tender rather than glaze a piece of grilled fish. It's the only dip in the nine that reaches for East Asia, and it sits at the opposite end of the range from the chilli-led options, with no heat in it at all. One of nine dips that went onto the KFC core menu nationwide on 15 June 2026, launched alongside the Original Recipe Tenders.
