Quorn mycoprotein sits at the centre of this burger, coated in KFC’s 11 herbs and spices and served with iceberg lettuce and vegan mayo on a soft glazed bun. Launched in the UK for Veganuary 2020, it followed an earlier 20-site trial in 2019 and uses KFC’s familiar fried chicken-style breading without any chicken. Compared with KFC’s standard burgers, the build is the same basic shape, but the fillet has a denser, more uniform bite than breast meat. It’s part of KFC UK’s vegan range, and the name plays on the idea of a plant-based stand-in.
