Crispy triangles of shredded potato, seasoned with salt and deep-fried until the outside turns golden and the centre stays soft. They come from McDonald’s UK breakfast menu, usually tucked into a paper sleeve and served hot from the fryer. Compared with the rest of the McDonald’s lineup, these sit firmly in breakfast territory rather than the burger side of the menu. People order them on their own, or tuck them into McMuffins and other breakfast sandwiches. Availability is limited to breakfast hours, so they’re not on all day.
