Vanilla soft serve in a small cup, topped with warm toffee sauce, was the format here. McDonald’s served it in the same 99p sundae cup used for the Strawberry Sundae, with the sauce poured over plain dairy ice cream so you got cold, soft vanilla against a hot, sticky topping. The toffee leaned towards caramel and burnt sugar, which set it apart from the fruitier sundae in the UK lineup. Both sundaes were removed from the menu in September 2018 as part of McDonald’s sugar-reduction changes.
