Thick deep-pan base, pepperoni slices and melted mozzarella come together in this frozen pizza from the Carlos range. It's built for oven baking and lands in the heavier, more dough-forward end of the supermarket pizza aisle, with a raised crust and a soft centre that stays close to the style's classic shape. Compared with thinner pizzas from the same brand, this one leans more on the base than the toppings, so the crust is doing a lot of the work. Deep-pan format means more bread per slice and a chewier bite, which you'll either love or find too filling. Pepperoni curls slightly at the edges as it cooks, concentrating its flavour and releasing oil onto the cheese.
