Spicy jalfrezi sauce brings tomato, onion, and chilli together around pieces of poultry, paired with pilau rice in a frozen meal meant for the microwave or oven. Rice is flavoured with spices rather than left plain, and the two components are packed together rather than separated. Within the frozen meal range, it sits alongside other curry-and-rice trays, built for heating in one go. Expect the rice to absorb some of the sauce as it warms, pulling spice through each forkful.
