Shredded potato is formed into burger-sized patties, then frozen for oven or grill cooking. They come out with a crisp exterior and a soft, grated-potato centre, closer to a hash brown than a traditional burger. Birds Eye uses the same basic potato mix found in its other hash brown-style products, just pressed into a round shape that fits buns or sits alongside eggs, bacon and sausages. Cooked from frozen, they take roughly 15 to 20 minutes in the oven, depending on how crisp you want the outside. Serve them in a breakfast bun with ketchup, or use them as a side where you'd normally reach for a standard hash brown.
