Cooked king prawns, sold frozen and already peeled, so they’re ready to thaw and use straight from the pack. These are ASC-certified and responsibly farmed, with the typical firm, springy texture you’d expect from king prawns. Waitrose’s Essential range keeps things basic, and these sit alongside the brand’s other frozen seafood staples rather than any seasoned or ready-to-heat version. They’re usually for salads, pasta, stir-fries, or prawn cocktails, where the prawns themselves are doing the work and the seasoning comes later.
