Straight-cut potato chips come frozen and ready for the oven, so they cook from raw-freezer solid to browned edges in a tray, without any parboiling step to manage. Made from potatoes and vegetable oil, they’re cut into the familiar batons you’d expect from a basic chip format. Compared with crinkle-cut or seasoned chips in the Waitrose frozen range, these keep things plain and mechanical, with no coating or extra flavouring. Bake them on a tray and turn once during cooking so they colour more evenly.
