Sweet potato cut into fry shapes, these are sold frozen and cooked straight from the freezer. They’re usually baked in the oven or cooked in an air fryer, with the edges going crisp while the centres stay soft. Compared with standard potato fries, the flavour is sweeter and the colour runs deeper orange. Waitrose’s version sits alongside the rest of its frozen chips and fries range, but uses sweet potato instead of white potato, so the texture and cooking behaviour are a little different.
