Peppermint is the oldest Aero variation and the one most people picture. The bubbled centre is mint flavoured and green, with plain chocolate around the outside, so the two arrive in sequence rather than mixed. Mint suits an aerated bar particularly well. Menthol triggers cold receptors, which makes the mouth read the bar as colder than it is, and the bubbles collapse fast enough to release it all at once instead of slowly. That rush is most of the appeal. A solid mint chocolate delivers the same flavour gradually; this one doesn't. The green centre is doing something too. Mint is one of the few flavours people expect to see a colour for, and an aerated centre shows it in a way a solid bar with mint through it never could.
