How Ratings Work

What is it?

Most Easter eggs are hollow, because a hollow shell uses a fraction of the chocolate and looks the same size on a shelf. A filled egg is the harder and rarer thing to make. The filling has to be deposited into a shell that's already been cast and cooled, and then sealed, which means the two halves have to meet cleanly enough that nothing leaks and the seam doesn't show. That's three operations where a hollow egg is one. Biscoff is a sensible filling for it, since the caramelised spiced biscuit brings cinnamon and a slight bitterness that a plain sweet centre wouldn't.
