Dippers are built thicker than a standard Doritos triangle, and the reason is structural. A dip is heavy, and a chip thin enough to be crisp on its own snaps under the weight of it. Salt alone is the other half of that design. This is the one bag in the range whose descriptor reads corn chips instead of flavour corn chips, because there's nothing on it past the salt, and a chip that's carrying something else has to stay out of its way. At 230g it's a larger bag than the 180g flavoured ones, which follows from a format built around a bowl rather than a hand.
