Duo splits the difference between the two formats. Chunky removed the break line; this puts one back, with two thick fingers instead of one, so the bar can be halved without going back to four thin ones. Salted caramel earns its place in a wafer bar more than in a solid one. Wafer is dry and almost flavourless, cream filling is sweet and soft, and neither brings anything sharp, so salt is the only element pulling in a different direction. Salt also suppresses bitterness and stops sweetness reading flat, which matters in a bar where everything else is some form of sugar and there isn't anything to balance it.
