Peppermint

What is it?

Dark chocolate rather than milk, which is the correct pairing here rather than simply a variation. Peppermint is sharp and cooling, and milk chocolate's sweetness blunts it where dark chocolate's bitterness sharpens it further. The centre is peppermint rather than a mint-flavoured vanilla, so it reads cooler and more assertive than the rest of the Magnum range. Menthol also produces a genuine cooling sensation independent of temperature, which is part of why mint works so well in something already cold. The shell and stick format are standard Magnum, thick enough to crack rather than flake. Of the coatings in the range this is the one doing the most work on flavour rather than on texture alone.
