Hedgehog slice is a no-bake Australian standard, crushed biscuit bound with chocolate and condensed milk and set in a tray. Its defining quality is that the biscuit stays in recognisable pieces rather than dissolving into the mix. This keeps that. The slab is chocolate with salty sweet cookie pieces packed through it, sandwiched between two golden biscuits at one end and dipped in chocolate with more cookie pieces at the other. Biscuit turns up in three separate places, which is a fair reflection of the original. The salt is worth noting. Hedgehog slice is normally sweet the whole way through, and a salted cookie piece cuts it in a way the tray version never bothers with. It's part of the Maxi Bakery line alongside Cinnamon Scroll and Vanilla Slice.
