Vanilla slice is an Australian bakery staple, thick custard set between two sheets of puff pastry with icing on top, and it goes by "snot block" in enough of the country that the nickname counts as affectionate. This translates it into Maxibon's half-sandwich, half-dipped format. The slab is custard flavoured rather than plain vanilla, which is the distinction the original depends on. Two golden biscuits take the place of the pastry at one end. The other is dipped in icing with wafer flakes through it, and the wafer does the job those flaky pastry layers do in the bakery version. Of the three Maxi Bakery flavours it's the most literal translation, since a vanilla slice is already a layered rectangle before anyone freezes it.
