The tub is the only format in OREO's frozen range that doesn't rebuild the biscuit's shape, and it's also the only one aiming at the creme filling rather than the whole cookie. The base is creme flavoured, which is a different target to vanilla. OREO's filling is sweeter and less aromatic than vanilla ice cream, and pushing the base that way lets the crushed biscuit pieces do the cocoa work on their own. Reconstituted skim milk leads the ingredient list ahead of sugar, with wheat flour and cocoa solids further down as the biscuit. It's the format most directly comparable to every other cookies and cream tub in the freezer, the difference being that these are actual OREO biscuits rather than a generic chocolate one.
