Sweet and sour is one of the oldest dipping sauces in fast food, built on the Cantonese balance of sugar and vinegar that became a fixture of Western Chinese restaurants and then of nugget boxes everywhere. It became one of the eleven sauces on KFC Australia's permanent menu in 2026, launched alongside bigger Original Tenders and the Dip'd range. It's the mildest of the sweet options in the range, with no chilli, smoke or mustard behind it, which makes it the default against the more specific sauces like Hot Honey Habanero and Smoky Maple. Sold in a 25 mL pot with a pink lid.
Bigger tenders, a Dip'd range and eleven permanent sauces, from Chimichurri Ranch to Liquid Gold. Which are new, which Britain had first, and which two are filler.
