Texas barbecue is better known for beef brisket and a dry rub than for sauce, and where sauce does appear it tends to be thinner, peppery and less sweet than the thick sticky versions from Kansas City. The label points at that smoky, savoury end of barbecue rather than the sugary one. It's one of eleven sauces KFC Australia moved onto the permanent menu in 2026, alongside bigger Original Tenders and the Dip'd range. It's the closest thing in the range to a standard barbecue sauce, with Korean BBQ covering a different tradition next to it and Smoky Maple taking the sweeter route. Sold in a 25 mL pot with a dark red lid.
Bigger tenders, a Dip'd range and eleven permanent sauces, from Chimichurri Ranch to Liquid Gold. Which are new, which Britain had first, and which two are filler.
