What is it?

Grilled PERi-PERi chicken sits over spiced rice with roasted tomato, onion and capsicum. Rice picks up the chicken's basting, so the whole dish comes out loosely bound rather than saucy, more bowl than classic Spanish format. Nando's version swaps in its own flavour profile instead of seafood, saffron or chorizo, keeping things closer to the chain's signature chilli-forward style. There's also a vegetarian variation on the menu, using a plant-based patty in place of chicken, which puts it in the same flexible camp as some of the brand's wraps and bowls. It's served as a plated dish rather than a handheld item, and works best eaten fresh when the rice still has some bite.
