A 900g three-pack of stone baked pizzas made in Italy, topped with edam and mozzarella. Edam is an unusual choice on a pizza and firmer than mozzarella, so it browns rather than pooling. The pack suggests adding toppings, which is unusually candid for frozen pizza and tells you what this is: a base with cheese on it. Stone baking produces a drier, firmer crust than conveyor baking, and that's what lets it hold up to whatever gets piled on afterwards. It carries no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and is suitable for vegetarians. The three-pack format and bare topping put it closer to a pizza kit than a finished product, and it's the only thing in the Aldi range designed to be interfered with before baking.
