An ice lolly rolled in hundreds and thousands, which puts the texture entirely on the outside. Sugar strands on a frozen surface behave differently to sugar strands on a cake. They begin to dissolve where they meet the ice and set into it, so the coating is partly embedded rather than loose, which is what stops it falling off in the wrapper. The appeal is almost entirely visual and almost entirely aimed at children, which is true of most of this end of the freezer. Six to a pack. The lolly underneath is a plain fruit ice, deliberately mild, since anything assertive would compete with the sugar strands rather than support them. It's one of the simplest things in the range.
