Whippy is the British word for soft serve, and the Gianni's Whippy Cones are an attempt to put a van-style ice cream into a freezer pack. Soft serve isn't a recipe so much as a texture. More air is whipped into the mix and it's served warmer than scooped ice cream, which is why it's lighter and softer. A frozen pack can't serve at that temperature, so the mix is formulated with more air to imitate it. Neapolitan puts chocolate, strawberry and vanilla in the same cone rather than in blocks across a tub. In a cone they have to be swirled instead of separated, so a bite takes all three at once.
