Strawberry is a difficult flavour to get right. The fruit is mild and mostly water, so a base carrying real strawberry tends towards ice crystals, while one carrying only flavouring tastes like coloured cream. The usual answer is to keep the fruit as a purée or a ripple rather than as whole pieces, since concentrating it reduces the water going into the base. That's why strawberry ice cream so often reads pink and smooth rather than fruity and textured. It sits in the same round tub format as the rest of the flavoured Gianni's line, alongside the cookie dough and chocolate brownie. Strawberry is the only fruit flavour among them.
