The Specially Selected version of a flavour Aldi also sells under Gianni's, and the difference is stated on the pack: West Country cream. West Country cream is a sourcing description rather than a protected name. Cornish clotted cream holds a protected designation of origin; West Country cream carries no such status. What it points at is the long grazing season in the south west, where cattle are outdoors for most of the year. Madagascar supplies most of the world's vanilla, and its beans give the rounded, sweet profile that people mean by vanilla without qualifying it. With nothing folded through the tub, the cream and the extract are the entire product.
