The name is the joke and the flavour answers it: raspberry with brownie, a combination that appears nowhere in the dairy range. Raspberry is a sensible fruit for a plant base. Those bases are thinner than cream and struggle to carry anything delicate, but raspberry brings enough acid to cut through whatever's underneath it, and enough colour to make the swirl visible against a pale vanilla. The brownies are made without egg or butter to hold the vegan badge, so they're a different recipe from the ones in the dairy tubs. They also matter more here. Fat gives ice cream its body, a plant base has less of it, and a dense inclusion ends up covering some of what the cream would have done.
