The build goes three deep. Grapefruit ice cream wraps a peach core, a peach coating goes over that, and Magnum chocolate over the peach, so a bite crosses four things on the way in. Grapefruit is the odd decision and the interesting one. The wrapper sells the bar on stone fruit and says nothing about citrus, yet what sits at the centre is bitter and sharp, a long way from the caramels and nuts filling most of the coated stick aisle. The peach layer isn't fruit either. It's a fat-based flavour coating carrying peach flavour sugar, which is how it manages to set hard alongside a chocolate shell instead of icing up the way anything with water in it would. The wrapper uses the French name, La Pêche, with Romanian printed underneath, so it's built for more markets than one.
