Cornish ice cream isn't a protected name, unlike Cornish clotted cream, so the words on this tub describe a recipe rather than guarantee an origin. The pack does state made in Cornwall, which is a separate claim and a narrower one. What people mean by Cornish ice cream is a higher fat content than a standard soft scoop, usually from clotted cream. Fat slows melting and carries flavour for longer, so it holds its shape in the bowl and finishes richer. Two litres puts it in the family tub format, which is unusual for a richer recipe. Most of what sits at this size is soft scoop.
