Black raspberry is its own species and not a color variant of the red one, and it reads closer to blackberry, with less of red raspberry's sharpness. It shows up far more in American ice cream than anywhere else. Crackling is the unusual word on the subtitle. A fudge chunk that crackles has been made to shatter instead of give, which needs a harder set than a standard chunk and puts something brittle into a tub that's otherwise soft and swirled. A fruit base this dark is a long way from the chocolate and dough the rest of the range runs on, and the tub is given over to activism artwork rather than to the ice cream, which is unusual even for this brand.
