One of the three flavors the brand launched with in 1960, alongside vanilla and chocolate, and still made to the same short list. Coffee has a problem in frozen form. Most of what makes a fresh cup smell like one is volatile, and cold suppresses volatility, so an ice cream has to be built stronger than a drink would be to land anywhere near the same place. That's why a weak coffee ice cream tastes of almost nothing and a strong one tastes about right. The beans are Brazilian, which is the only origin claim on the tub. It's also one of the few flavors in any freezer that reads as an adult one without needing alcohol to get there, which is most of why it has stayed in a range that has otherwise turned over completely since 1960.
