Thinly sliced roast beef and melted Swiss come layered on a toasted sub-style roll, with a small cup of warm au jus on the side for dipping. The bread starts firm, then softens once it hits the broth, which is basically seasoned beef stock. Compared with Arby’s other roast beef sandwiches, this one leans on the dip as much as the meat. It’s built in the classic French dip format, and the Swiss stays mild and melty against the savory roast beef. Arby’s also sells a French Dip Royale with more beef and herb mayo.
