Cheesy Tots

What is it?

Small, bite-sized potato tots are filled with melted cheese, then deep-fried until the outside goes golden and crisp. A bacon version has bits of bacon mixed into the cheese filling, so the center reads more savory and smoky than plain cheese alone. Burger King has used these as a limited-time item for years, with the bacon version formally discontinued in 2021 and the original returning in short runs in 2023 and 2024. Compared with standard hash brown sides in the chain’s lineup, these are denser and more filling, with a molten center that changes as they cool.
