Popping boba is still unusual in American fast food, and where it does turn up it's normally in a tea. Burger King put it in a lemonade instead. The base is a mango peach lemonade, tart underneath and heavily fruit-forward on top, with mango-flavored boba resting at the bottom until the straw finds them. The spheres are thin-skinned and filled with juice, so they burst rather than chew, which makes them a completely different proposition from tapioca pearls. That texture is most of what the drink is doing, and it's also why it changes as it goes: the top half is lemonade, the bottom half is lemonade punctuated by small bursts of mango. It launched on 1 September 2026 as half of Burger King's Dragon Ball Super menu, next to the Super Saiyan Sauce. The seven Dragon Balls the show is built around are the reason the boba are in there, and the packaging leans on them heavily.
Seven US chains launched between 28 August and 1 September. Only two changed anything permanently, and the biggest of those happened because thousands of customers said the old version was rubbery.
