Chick-fil-A's Chicken & Waffles Sandwich drops the buttered bun and builds the sandwich between two small waffles with maple syrup baked into the batter. Inside sit the chain's breaded filet and strips of applewood smoked bacon, so the sweet and salty split runs through every layer instead of arriving as a sauce on the side. It comes with a packet of maple syrup, which pushes the whole thing further toward the diner plate it's borrowing from. The waffles hold their shape well enough to carry the filet without folding, and the bacon puts salt against the maple. There are two sizes. A smaller breakfast build runs through the morning, and a larger version takes over from 10:30 a.m. until close. The sandwich had a limited run at a handful of locations from late 2025 into early 2026 before going nationwide on August 24, 2026, as the anchor of the chain's fall lineup. It's a seasonal item rather than a permanent one, arriving alongside the S'mores Milkshake and S'mores Frosted Coffee.
