KFC's Double Crispy Hot Wings earn the first half of the name from the breading. A spicy marinade goes on first, then the wings are hand-breaded twice in the chain's Extra Crispy flour. That second coat is what separates them from a standard wing, building a thicker, craggier shell that keeps its crunch longer once sauce is involved. The heat sits in the marinade rather than in a glaze, so the wings stay dry to handle and the spice reads through the meat instead of on the fingers. They're sold in 3 and 6 piece counts and inside box meals that add tenders or a sandwich. They returned on August 24, 2026 after a spell off the US menu, launched with IShowSpeed and pushed alongside the new Hot Ranch Big Dip, which KFC positions as the dip built for them.
