KFC's Double Crispy Hot Wings earn the first half of the name from the breading. A spicy marinade goes on first, then the wings are hand-breaded twice in the chain's Extra Crispy flour. That second coat is what separates them from a standard wing, building a thicker, craggier shell that keeps its crunch longer once sauce is involved. The heat sits in the marinade rather than in a glaze, so the wings stay dry to handle and the spice reads through the meat instead of on the fingers. They're sold in 3 and 6 piece counts and inside box meals that add tenders or a sandwich. They returned in 2026 after a spell off the US menu, launched with IShowSpeed and pushed alongside the new Hot Ranch Big Dip, which KFC positions as the dip built for them. The return was billed as a limited-time run.
