Arriving at KFC in 2016, this limited-time chicken riff took the chain’s fried pieces and coated them with a cayenne and habanero seasoning blend. It was offered on both Original Recipe and Extra Crispy chicken, so the heat rode on top of KFC’s familiar breading rather than replacing it. Compared with the standard lineup, the seasoning adds a dry, brick-red crust with some sweetness and smoke underneath the burn. Since its debut, KFC has brought it back in later runs, usually as a seasonal or promotional item built from the same core chicken styles.
