Small, round, and baked in-house, this Popeyes side is built from laminated dough with butter folded in to create lots of thin layers. It comes out with a pale golden crust and a soft, tender center that pulls apart instead of crumbling. Usually served with combo meals, it can also be ordered on its own in packs of three, six, or twelve. Compared with other fast-food bread sides, it leans more layered than cakey, and it's meant to be eaten warm, when the flaky sheets separate most clearly. Honey or jam packets are commonly paired alongside.
