Built on a toasted brioche bun, this handheld uses a hand-battered chicken breast fillet, barrel-cured dill pickles, and mayo. Marinated in Popeyes' Louisiana seasoning blend before frying, the chicken carries spice through the meat as well as the crust. It comes in classic and spicy versions, with the spicy one adding Cajun-spiced mayo. Compared with the chain's tenders, the fillet here is larger and thicker, which changes the breading-to-chicken ratio and gives it a more substantial bite. Launched in August 2019, it sparked a fast-food frenzy that put Popeyes at the center of the fried-chicken conversation.
