Black & White Shake

What is it?

Blended from Shake Shack's vanilla and chocolate frozen custards, this shake mixes both flavors together in one cup instead of layering or swirling them. Custard base gives it a thick, spoonable texture, closer to a malt shop milkshake than a lighter fast-food shake, and egg yolks in the custard help keep it dense. Unlike the single-flavor shakes in the lineup, this one leans on the contrast between chocolate and vanilla without separating them. Named after the black and white cookie, a New York bakery classic, it's been part of the Shake Shack menu since the early days.
