Crinkle-cut fries come in regular and large sizes, cut into wavy ridges that give each piece extra surface area. Shake Shack fries them until golden, then salts them lightly. Inside, they stay soft and starchy, while the ridges turn crisp at the edges. Unlike the straight-cut fries in some other fast-food menus, these are the chain’s only fry shape and have been on the menu from the start. They also show up as the base for Cheese Fries and Bacon Cheese Fries, where the ridges help catch sauce.
