Green leaf lettuce replaces the Martin's potato roll on this modified version of Shake Shack's signature burger, keeping the same core build: Angus beef patty, American cheese, ShackSauce, tomato, and the usual toppings. Lettuce serves as the outer layer, so the sandwich opens up a bit and you get more of the patty and sauce up front. Compared with the bun version, it's less bready and a little messier, since juices and sauce can slip through the leaves more easily. It's offered as a regular modification, so there's no special order needed. Searing happens on the same griddle used for all of the chain's burgers.
