Black Beans

What is it?

Seasoned whole beans, served warm in a small cup, sit on Taco Bell's menu as both a side and a build-in option for burritos, bowls, and other custom orders. Beans are kept intact rather than mashed, so the texture stays firm and distinct. Compared with the chain's refried version, these lean drier and more granular. Taco Bell uses them as one of its vegetarian swap ingredients, in place of meat or alongside rice, vegetables, and cheese in the customization system. They're lightly seasoned and mild enough to blend into most menu items without competing with bolder sauces.
