Battered Fish Nuggets

What is it?

Lightly battered Alaska pollock nuggets come frozen in a 16-ounce bag, pre-fried in canola oil and meant for the oven. Each piece has a thin, crisp coating around flaky white fish, so the texture lands somewhere between a standard fish stick and a chunkier nugget. Trader Joe’s keeps the seasoning restrained here, with the fish doing most of the work. The pieces stay mild and clean-tasting, and the batter doesn’t hide what’s underneath.
