Two flour tortillas come stuffed with dark and white meat chicken and a tomatillo chile verde sauce built from crushed tomatillos, green chiles, jalapeños, and Anaheim peppers. Trader Joe’s sells them in a 14-ounce box with two burritos inside, and they’re meant for the microwave, where they heat in about two and a half minutes. Compared with some of the brand’s heavier burritos, this one leans on a brighter sauce and a simpler filling. The tortilla stays soft and a little chewy, which helps it hold together once heated. Inside, the chicken is chopped small enough to mix cleanly with the sauce, so each bite gets both poultry and salsa.
