A 12-ounce bag of frozen mini wontons, these are fully cooked and filled with chicken, cilantro, green onion, cabbage, soy sauce, and garlic inside a thin wheat-flour wrapper. They’re bite-sized, so the wrapper-to-filling balance skews a little more toward the skin than in larger dumplings. Heat them by steaming, microwaving, boiling, or pan-frying. Steamed or microwaved, the wrapper turns soft and chewy. Pan-fried, it picks up some crispness. In Trader Joe’s frozen lineup, they sit closer to a simple dumpling snack than a full meal, and the cilantro comes through more clearly than it does in many chicken wontons.
