A 16-ounce bag of frozen mini tacos, pre-fried and ready to heat straight from the freezer. Each one is folded from yellow and white corn tortillas around seasoned ground beef, then fried before freezing, so the shell starts out set and crisp rather than soft. Garlic, onion, cumin, paprika, and oregano season the filling. In Trader Joe’s frozen lineup, these sit closer to the snackable, hand-held end of the spectrum than the larger burrito-style meals. They’re gluten-free, and the size is closer to a few bites than a full taco. After heating, the tortillas stay firm with some chew, while the beef remains tucked inside.
