Whole corn kernels are cooked, ground, and fried into the familiar Fritos shape, then finished with a lighter hand of salt. Compared with Original Fritos, this version has 50% less sodium, so the toasted corn flavor comes through more clearly. They’re sold as a plain corn chip, not a flavored snack, and the ingredient list stays close to the brand’s core recipe. Like the rest of the Fritos lineup, they’re sturdy enough for scooping chili, dip, or salsa, but they also work straight from the bag when you want that corn-and-salt balance in a simpler form.
